Shmuel Shapira MD MPH (Colonel Res.) is a physician and Full Professor of Medical Administration at the Hebrew University Faculty of Medicine. Professor Shapira was for 8 years until 2021 the Director General of the Israel Institute for Biological Research and Chair of the Board of Life Science Research Israel. Past Deputy Director General of the Hadassah Medical Organization, Director (founder) of the Military Tract of the Hebrew University Faculty of Medicine, and former Director of the Hebrew University Hadassah School of Public Health.
Professor Shapira serves as an authority on R&D administration, innovation, Risk Management, terror medicine and trauma.
